air con in a Griff
Discussion
I specially bought a Griff with A/C as I live in Spain and trust me when I tell you, it does get very hot here! A/C works very well, but it does need to run a few minutes every month or so to keep it in good form. Also at some stage it will need re gassing (not difficult but specialist)
If anyone has water coming into the car, I can only presume that the drain pipe from the tray is broken, disconnected or something like that. I have had the same problem with another car and it was not difficult to fix. Access, however is another matter.
Good luck

Drop AJP Griff a line (Mike) - he swears by it....
The a/c in a griff works very well, and makes a hell of a difference(switch it off when the outside temp is hot and you will know!).Those that scorn it either have no experience of it(lots of these, sadly) ,or have experienced a poorly set up system.I had it retrofitted to factory spec on my first griff, and have it fitted to my current griff, infact i'd never have another without it!!Luckily 'L110BFV' had it partly fitted by the factory,so my future griff will also have it
.Most common reason for it not being too impressive is that the heater valve is not properly syncronised i would suspect. As with a/c on any car,it can leak sometimes, but using it at least once a week will ensure all the seals are well lubricated,as the gas contains the lubricant.A/C also is a great benefit in the winter when the windows mist up,as it clears them much quicker than a car without it.Also you wont suffer from the drivers side window misting up if you use a/c. My current one has never leaked in 2 1/2 years of ownership, and still works well,so if your thinking you would like it then i would advise you try one if poss.

So, retrofit, is it possible to add it to a standard Griff that was built without it??
Thanks
Thanks
Yes,as i said,i had it done myself. It will be much easier on a 500,and easier still on a serp 500.Don't expect it to come cheap though, the parts will set you back £1500-£2000,and then it's quite a lot of labour. It cost me £3k to have it retro-fitted in 2004.If your a reasonably competent DIY'er then you would be able to fit yourself, and i would guess the hardest parts of the job are the dash removal, and the radiator. The wiring is mostly already there on most cars, and the bit's that are not are pretty simple.
I recntly talked to a breaker and all the bits you would need would cost you £1k as used parts.
