Has anyone found an insurer who will insure a Cat C Tiv for sensible money? There's a car that I'm interested in but the insurance figure is currently double that for a non-Cat C car weeping

Currently looked at NU and L&V...

Any advice greatly appreciated.

My Chim was a Cat C, insurance never asked if it was and I never told them. Can never understand why it should make a difference to them other than the value in the event they have to pay it out as a write off.... which theoretically should mean a lower not higher policy as they have less exposure. Maybe I was naive though and would have had major grief come claim time - Was insured with Highway via Adrian Flux if it helps.

Whatchya gettin - little birdie mention a Tuscan a while back ??

A bloomin nuisance in insurance terms irked

The car was damaged "beyond economical repair" but has been fixed. It seems a few of the usual (whoops nearly gave the game away there) non-specific TVR insurers won't touch Cat C repairs so the price of insurance gets a bit silly.

I'll PM you the number of my insurance chap.. Got me a very nice deal on the V8S and is a petrolhead himself, (lurks here once in a while), so doesn't take the piss..
