Pembrey Power Boat Racing

Hi all, now i have dried out, its time to try and sort out all the kit, awning etc, not to mention one very soggy taz. Could not believe the conditions, race one had near zero vis, not helped by a very steamy screen which i could only clear with a wipe of a shammy every straight. Still, everyone made it round, and nothing more than a few offs, infact, did anyone get away without a spin or a visit to the grass??
John was telling me he is going to install a sat nav for Howard, have to let me know how that goes!!!

Glad you had a good time Sam, and cogratulations to you on keeping your 100% record. To be leading the class and indeed the Championship in the style that you are is certainly commendable. A big very well done.

By the way....does anybody know where I might get a clutch cable for my Taz. Its the original 4speed box, 2.8i engine variant, 1981 vintage.

Mark, something in the back of my mind says its a modified Capri/Sierra item, but not 100% on that. Alternatively, I've got a concentric hydraulic setup off my Tasmin that needs new slave seals that you can have for a crate of ale, maybe that's more of a winter project though?

Hi Sam, brill weekend! cant wait for Snet now, ive got the urge to get in the taz again and give it a good old tonking!
I managed to get away without a visit to the grass though i did have a little spin in practice :P

Went straight on at Hatchets on lap 15 in race 1 trying to dive up the inside of Andy Race going in way too fast - locked all 4 wheels up and ended up doing some gardening...

Also seem to remember doing something similar at the other hairpin in race 2 and the marshals bringing out the red flags. Hey ho!

I'll cut some CDs for those that want them and bring them to Snetterton. The low res. pics will appear on Webshots when I have the time which should suit the people with websites. I have no problem with the pictures being used to promote the series or driver's personal websites. For any other purpose please ask permission. Sorry to mention it but some have taken advantage in the past and used images comercially without even a credit.

With luck I get to join in next time as the S3rbera #66 should be ready.

Thanks George that would be great. I've very few shots of our own from Pembrey for my website as the Team photographer (my son) wasn't able to get away from school and no one else was brave enough to get the camara drenched!

It'll be great to see you out with us again, what've you done with the S3 by the way?

Hi All,

The plan is to cut a CD of all the Mallory and Pembrey pictures for Sprint and those of you that asked for them. I'll send these to Howard who has kindly offered to do the distribution. All this will take about a week as I have a few hundered pictures to sort through from Pembrey.

The S3rbera has had the engine wiring loom sorted out so far. Next is getting me a working rev counter and fixing the electronic dash. Finally sorting out the engine breathing to improve performance at high revs. Curently the intake is a bit of a bodge and we have the AJP running through the original S exhaust, which got the car on track last year but is not ideal.

Well done to all the drivers for their excellant power boating skills and to all the supporters for sticking it out all day. It was that wet my mobile got soaked and wouldn't work for 24 hours until it had been dried out in the conservatory..(ahhh bliss), and it had been in the pocket of my waterproofs all day!!!

Now it has woken up again.... I might have to put in the bath to finally kill the bl**dy thing!!

George; thanks for your help with the piccies. Great job.
