ARB link.....

A bit puzzled when I look at the ARB link on my wedge. Shall replace the bushes and can´t see how the bush is held in place at the ARB ....the upper part of the link, that is. Anyone know where to find good pics of this? The bible is not helping much. It looks like a washer and a locking pin. Could it be like that?

I don't think there is .. my car is 5K miles away at the moment - so can't check for you.

Unfortunately you can't see the washer and split pin really, but as I recall it's drop link, bit of rubber tube, washer, split pin.

The original droplink was held in place by a split pin and washer although in some cases the washer wasn't there.
With my drop links, the same basic principle is used except I supply a R pin which is easier to fit and remove if needed.
I provide an extra pair of washers so that the rubbersleeve/ washer/pin sequence can be fitted but in practice the washer does not seem to be absolutely essential.


The position of the rubber sleeve is dependent on the best fit. For some it is best on the inside and on others it is on the outside.

Ahhh.....thought I was losing my sight.......since I can´t see the split pin. Suppose I have to raise the ARB to get a proper angle of the drop link....and see the pin.

Cause my car is really just a pile of bits, my ARB is off the car but has the original drop links fitted. Do you want a photo taking or are you covered now?

I'm think of fitting the SH drop links - have you guys got any experience and is this a worthwile mod - what are the adavantages?

Make no difference But then since I put them on car is still sat on drive, Look good though

I'm sure in principle they must work better than the 20 year old original and look foward to abusing them in anger. A bit of a bu**er to fit mine were, and now I know the washer not needed I might be able to get the final split pin in

Yes worthwhile, especially at the price. Main difference I notice is with smaller movement - e.g. Lane changes or especialy quick left - right - left flicks thro roundabouts. Previously the car felt less stable with little 'feel' under these conditions.
