picked up my Starmist Blue '98 Chimaera 500 on saturday which I have instantly fallen in love with.

I had it running today with the bonet up and noticed a drip from the driver side cam cover onto the exhaust manifold causing steam. I don't think it was burning oil because it would be more smokey. There are a couple of what look like coolant pipes running parallel with the cover so I think its coming from there (i'll investigate more when its cold!)

Has anyone had this or know what it might be?

Cheers,
Rich

Hi,
yes had this, coolant hose from the inlet manifold connects to one of the heater pipes that run along side of the driver side rocker cover. If the hose clip is loose or the hose has perished then coolant leaks out, runs down the heater pipe and drips off onto the exhaust manifold.

Control the bolts clamping the inlet manifold to the heads! They had loosened up on my 500.

You can also be surprised where water gets when you wash the car. Liberal amounts of kitchen roll assist in tracing leaks

Cheers guys, will investigate more when the weather improves. So far I have owned it 4 days and its rained 3!
Should the the bolts clamping the inlet manifold to the heads be torque wrenched?
