I was out in the Tivver this evening with my eldest lad - first time in a couple of weeks! Anyway, some chavved up Nova wanted a race (which it lost by some margin.) Half hour later I found myself behind a Porsche Cayman and he immediately also wanted a race - and got one! It was on a country lane and I won't pretend it was anything but fast. Anyway, when I got home my imagination started becoming active. If something unexpected had have happened (a deer running out or some such) I could have killed my son! Also, what sort of example am I setting for when he starts driving next year! As such, I have today come of (mental) age! I will reserve fast driving for track days and enjoy the 'burble' rather than the 'race'. Today I have become a man.

Yesterday I had an Alfa trying to get into the boot, urging me on.

As soon as we got to a small straight he pulled out, revved it as high as possible to overtake and I let him go....

I rather enjoyed it.

Does this mean I can join the mens team ?

Hear hear. My son is 17 now and having driving lessons - I just hope that he does as I say, and not as he's seen me do!

Yep - from now on May the 14th will be known as "became a man day" in my diary!

Funny that. I grow up after every quick run in the Griff and then I slip back everytime the red mist decends. I just seem to keep cycling around.

Colin.

Blimey, I thought James was about 15 for some reason...

So... is he going to do his test in the Griff?

This is what you do next time when you have an arsehole trying to see whats in your boot.Just let him pass you can guarantee he will have big ears and a bald head and an exhaust pipe as big as a dustbin attached to the arse of his nova or some other banger.
In the back window he should have a sticker "LOOK AT ME I'M A PRATT" because thats what everyone he passes thinks.

Generally I don't bother with the fat exhaust brigade. The more you let them goad you the more they will try it on with the next person they meet, followed at some point by a bent car.

We all have our weak moments though..
