Can I fit a 996 engine to a Boxster S
Discussion
I don't think it's a big job. You could also look at getting a modified recon unit from Autofarm or Hartech? May cost less or be better or both, so certainly worth checking up on.
You may have a problem buying new and not exchanging the same type of engine - less of a problem outside the OPC network I'd imagine.

OK here is the problem. I have a Boxster that we use for track days.
I want more power so I can buy a 996 Engine from porsche for £6500 plus the vat Exchange unit.
365 Bhp Power upgrade from Porsche. What every 911 should have had.
Will it fit ? ? Has anyone done it .
Thanks

TTP in Germany do this conversion. All the details are on their website but from memory it's a new 997S 3.8 lump with a few mods producing 375bhp for about £15k. Would be a very, very nice car and might confuse a few 911 drivers on track too! www.t-t-p.de/english/berichte.php I think Weltmeister (spelling?) at Silverstone are their UK agents.

Autofarm can take the 3.2 & 3.4 engines out to 3.7. The 3.6 they can get out to 4.0 ltr.If your boxster is just for track days you can dump all the softop roof and bolt a hardtop in place to stiffen the shell. You can then have a cold air intake feeding straight down to the manifold. The boxster has a lot better exhaust run so you would gain a few BHP there.Stick a set of coilovers on ,GT3 brakes as well and you will have a very quick trackday car for not too much money!!
