Drivers seat falling back

The drivers seat in my newly acquired Chimaera falls backwards when it should be locked in place. Is this a common issue? How am I best to tackle this?

I have taken a look and I see that there are 2 bolts on the seat bracket nearest the centre console. Do I need to remove this to get in at the mechanism?

Can't help with your exact problem but I would say it would be a lot easier to take the seat out of the car. Four bolts underneath, removed mine without jacking the car up
