Camcorder on a bike?
Discussion
I've just bought a mount to fit a camcorder to my m/bike. Hoever, plastered all over the fitting instructions it states that it is NOT for highway use. Is there a law against filming my ride? Obviously I'll press record, then leave it, so it's not as if I'm messing with it whilst riding.

if you ever get stopped, they'll have all the evidence they need to do you for speeding/dangerous driving whatever they want
I know of someone who was pulled over whilst filming on his bike, he had to throw the camera before he stopped, luckily the BiB didn't notice. Not that I condone that sort of behaviour mind you.

It's just to take some footage of a Spain trip I'm going on soon. I thought about putting it on for the daily commute.....but fear it would be my last!!

Don't think there's any law against it. Also I didn't think digital images (assuming its a digital cam-corder) could be used as evidence unless the images have an audit trail and the device is type-approved. i.e. if you have an accident and take photos with a digital camera then they can't be used to support any legal action, they're too easy to tamper with.
I've filmed my antics a few times, but you have got to be SO careful. Just do a google, you'll find loads of incidents where the video has been used as evidence. If you're going to film then use a bullet cam, hidden in the nose of the bike. If you do mount anything on the tank, make sure the speedo isn't in view either.

Surely the solution would be a camcorder with a one time pad? I'm sure they exist but dunno where to get them.
As in paper-based cryptography? Complex, but it might work
Nick, as stated, the ideal would be a solid-state with a bullet cam, but they are fairly few and far between.
Decent compromise are the self-contained SD card/AA battery bullet cams. Easy to tuck away, and the SD cards are small enough to not bother you on the trip. Place it right, and you shouldnt be too bothered if they stop you. The only issue might be battery life and turning it on/off, and questions about something that looks like a laser detector/jammer poking out of the ram air ducts, but hey, I'm sure you can smile enough for the Guardia.

but then why would you want to video that?
