The Green Party and the 'Road Safey Experts' reckon that the default speed limit for London should be 20mph, and it looks like they are going to get their way according the Red Ken's comments in this article.

Not interested in London? It's only a matter of time before it comes to a town near you.

So they're raising the limit in London then?

I've only ever managed about 15mph the few times I've been there...

No spare £$£$£$ at the moment - no garage either, in the middle of selling the house...

My ONLY requirement for the next house is a garage/woodshop.

No garage? Pah! If you were a real biker you'd just park the bike in the living room

Disclaimer: bike parking in the living room was before I got married!

They should try enforcing the 30 limit before changing it to 20. There will be mass non-compliance. I don't see what moving the limit will do to actual vehicle speeds, or more importantly - impact speeds.
