I've booked the ferry, got the camping and entry passes and was intending on not taking nipper this year as I thought he would be in the middle of his GCSE's. However his last exam is on Friday and I was planning on going Thursday. Do I wait for him to finish his exams and go Friday night and meet the others there on Saturday morning or go on Thursday as originally planned and leave him at home?

Sounds like a good reward for finishing exams to me, tell him he needs to revise hard though. Wish I had that at 16

Opinion seems fairly unanimous, I thought it would be. As long as the others save me a space and don't drink all the beer. He'd be gutted if I didn't take him. Next to decide what car to take Splitty or Spyder, Spyder or Splitty.

I agree, just take him!!!

The first year I went in 2003, it was blind luck that our ferry was right after my last exam. I packed the night before, did the exam, was picked up by my dad in the Jag and straight down to the ferry. Great thing to do to take your mind off of exams!

Cheers.

Another vote here. Also the lads will set up for ya! Takes all the hassle out of going! Turn up, watch race, head home!

Go Thursday and get the other half to plonk him on a Ryanair to Tours and pick him up Friday or Saturday?

There's a good plan! But you got to get him there somehow!

He can refund you the airticket via lots of window cleaning and chores if he ballses up the exams!

Give your tent etc to mates and get them to set you up a pitch (and parking space) pick him up from school and hoon it down there! There will still be plenty of cars to have a play with!!!!

At a guess he is taking French as one of his GCSEs so would benefit from immersing himself in the language and culture... so you drive down Thursday, he jumps on a Eurostar to Paris, changes for a TGV to Le Mans and you see him at the station/drive him back.

Heck, you can even call it educational!

My dad took me when I finished my GCSE's. He will love it, especially to loosen up after the exams. I loved every minute of it, and have been back every year since*. I used to hate it when he went and I couldn't go

*only been twice... but technically
