I've heard nowt personally. I seriously wouldn't hold your breath about it being feature films at HD levels; it'd take a few days to download (or longer depending on how they do it). So think more along the lines of 'selected' movie trailers and 'recording artists' work.

1 hour of 1920x1080p HD encoded with H.264 at 2Mbps takes around 1GB

(edited to correctly say that the Casino Royale trailer reports 15.8 Mbps)

was wondering if they could encode on this platform, did'nt want to sound an idiot though so it is possible scratchchin

can you plug an HD storage device straight into the USB connectors, you can get 400gb quite cheaply now.

You can certainly plug in a USB stick with your movies on it. Same goes for xbox 360, although I prefer the PS3 as you can copy stuff from device to device

My bad - checked again and Quicktime reports the C R trailer download at 15.82 Mbps, which would make it 6.5GB an hour
That also explains why the Xbox 360 stutters - it's limted to 10Mbps, whereas the PS3 seems fine at 32Mbps

The lower figure I gave refers to the same clip down-sampled to the point of data loss, which is around 2 Mbps, but would require re-processing the files
