Got both here, rFactor is the only one which is installed though.

I've got both installed here and rFactor gets more driving time. The only thing GTR2 has over rFactor is rain, but that's in the works for rFactor too. The actual effect on the screen is a bit naff I actually prefer the damp track tyre lines that appear. Thing is though, you try it once or twice then change the weather settings to dry/sunny all the time.

Plus you can get the GTR2 cars added into rfactor anyway

I do like GTR2 though i must admit. It's hard to explain, but hammering around the ring for example
just seems more "full on" than it does in rfactor.I'm not sure if it's the look, the way it runs, the movement
or what, but it does do it a little differently.

Given the choice though, with the amount of truly superb addons there are for rfactor, i would have
to take that to my desert island.

you no what your getting in GTR though, some of the "mods" in rfactor are trully s@*t, interiors straight out of 1989 and dodgy AI, mostly just paint jobs, but I'm enjoying the porsche carrera cup despite Ai cars crashing at hairpins, still waiting on F1 1986

You do know you can make the AI in rFactor learn don't you?

But many are truly great.I also noticed if you don't run on max settings some dashboards can look a bit more bland.
There are some rough mods though i agree, but there are at least 20 or so on my HD that i would have been happy
to pay for as individual games not so long ago

I also love mixing the cars up in rfactor.Clio cups vs huge Yanks vs Caterhams etc always makes for some interesting racing!

Some mods have 2 versions - for example the GP 1979 mod has a historic and an unlimited version. In the historic one, you can only have the 1979 Williams if you race at the later tracks in the season, as the FW07 wasn't introduced until partway through the season. The unlimited version lets you race any of the models on any of the tracks.

Each mod has a different list of cars you own, and a different wallet. Whenever you install a new mod, you have the base level of money - which I find a little annoying. I tend to dip into a test session straight away, use the cheat and then pick and choose which car I'd like to drive.

Start the mod so it creates a CCH file for the new mod, quit rFactor. Go to you userdata folder, go into your named folder and edit the CCH file for that mod using notepad and give yourself loads of money and experience points. (5,000,000 is enough as I think there is an upper limit)

That's the thing I don't like about PC games, all this bloody techy stuff, I don't even want to set the car up, I just want to drive the doors off driving roll on Forza
