I recently bought a 1400 K-series Scimitar Sabre, this is the first EFi car I've had so I'm not too familiar with their operation.

The problem is that when I accelerate there is a big pause and then the power sort of comes in all at one go. If I accelerate very gently everything is fine. I'm not sure if this is related, today the revs seemed to hold at 5000rpm during a gear change, but this could be an unrelated sticking throttle cable as I havn't had a chance to check.

All I've done to it so far is a very basic service, oil+filter, air filter and spark plugs. It's pretty high mileage at 130,000 miles and there's not much history with the car (but it was very cheap ).

contact Turbster (Orange 5 on scimitarweb) as he had a similar thing iirc with a Sabre K he had.

Does it have any kind of throttle position sensor? If that's packed up you could be missing out on your enrichment under acceleration.
