Been looking at Gallardo's now for a while - most decent early ones seem to start at low-ish 80k's.
Are there any around in the mid £70k's yet.....I would be so so tempted.

I can't see it at present. Demand is outstripping supply and that is keeping prices steady. Expect to pay 85K for a good 04.

Andy.

Rob paid into the late 7's for a G but not sure, think it was an 04 car but reckon he was buying privately.

I have seen a couple on the low £80k's - one in particular (yellow/black/03/17k miles/manual) that looks lovely, but I just get the feeling they won't (or rather they dont need) to do a deal & get it to under £80k, but I can try !

... and had the wheels painted. I was sceptical about how they'd look but after seeing it on a drive out one night with him I have to say it finished the car off nicely.

exhaust/painshield/wheels can add to desirability but not resale value

hi

as paracetamol said i did indeed just buy a gallardo the original asking price was 86 k as per retail in the guide i eventually negotiated a lower price begining with a 7 however this took weeks. the car had 20 k miles and i used that as a bargaining tool also he serviced it and replaced the clutch ( work done at lambo manchester ) i think the prices have risen slightly over the last few months due to the Gallardo being listed in the guide for the first time in March retail at 33 k miles then was 87 k ( now in may its 86 k with 19 k miles

it does seem as if the earlier 53 04 54 models are now very rare and are priced around the 85 / 83 k mark

at one time there were many in top marques but only one private in the current edition ( a SE )

my sugestion is try to find a private seller as he will have been bid very low by anyone in the trade but in all honesty for once i think i got a very reasonable deal

I agree it seems as though there seems to be a shortage of good cars at present and I think this has stabilised prices. You may drop on a private car in the late 70's but that brings its own issues with it. There was the Blue one on Ebay for 66k, but that had been previuosly damaged (funny how there was no mention of that in the Ad!)

I'd wager that the banking bonus effect is kicking in on these sorts of cars..the G is defintaley the latest must have and the prices are not so far off 997 territory, which would have been the usual purchase of the banking set...

think your right

i purchased mine through a local stratstone dealer however, it was on sale or return and it was back and forth negotiation so it seemed like a private sale rather than the usual retail purchase.

mine still had 4 months lambo warrenty when i got it.

this car isnt for sale but i have had 3 calls from people offering almost retail book price for it and the selling dealer also called me and offered to return my money if i wanted to sell as i they had had offers for the car just at the point when i purchased it.

but whats the point in selling as i couldnt repalce it for much less than 84 k anyway
