Anyone know where I can get some of these made? You know the ones where they take a mould of your ear and then give you re-usable earplugs that fit your ear exactly?

Theyre usually at bike shows and such but I need some by the weekend and only just thought of them.

ETA - no idea why theres an 18+ badge on this thread. Must be my gimp fingers on the mouse rolleyes

Pete,
Can't really help, but my mate has got these. I'm sure you have to go fow a couple of fittings, and they send them to ya....I think it takes a while though.

I had a pair made by Ultimate Ear (something or other, do a search, it's the UK company with a picture of Hodgsons GSE Duke on the homepage). The are brilliant, fantastic, amazing, great....or they were until I lost the left one Syria and the right one in Egypt. I kept the moulds so it's dead easy to get replacements made up. Pretty pricey though.

These are custom plugs you make yourself at home. I've got some and they are great.

Fit perfectly and provide really good sound protection.

Try ringing your local hospital, and get the number of the local department that does ear things(and yes, there is a technical term for it, and no, I cant remember it)

Having looked into these a while back, apparently they do a very similar thing for hearing aids, and are usually very happy to do custom earplugs without the magic gismos for a lot less than the chaps at the shows.

That'll be the audiology dept, but if you ask for the hearing aid clinic you'll get there

I've been using these ear plugs www.starcom1.com/earplugs.htm for 5 years now, replace them every year and I have found them to be great.
