All,

Please excuse my question, but despite reading EVO religiously, and knowing my motors, I am having to throw myself on your superior knowledge.

My lady wants a Ferrari. Perferably an older one... up to about 40k. She only drives automatics - what are we looking at here? Did the 348 come in auto? Many thanks for your time...

I had a horrible feeling you were going to say that. What about any of the really old ones - the classics?

I think 400 or 412 came with an auto. Also how about a 456GTA not sure how much these are but well worth a look IMO.

355 was first 8 cyl car with a (Semi) auto box.

for a fully auto in your price budget you need a 456.

take a look at this for 35K with a auto box.

Be warned though, these 12 cyl cars (456) cost a small fortune to run but they do have small ish rear seats and a decent boot and are one of the easier fezzas to drive on a daily basis.

my pick of the litter is the blue/tan at 39.950 - its the strongest colour combination and as always with fezzas buy the best (usually most expensive) car you can afford.

Make sure you get in independently inspected by a ferrari specialist and have any work done before you hand over the money.

As someone else said, the 365/400/412 came in automatic form too. These and the 456 are more "GT" than the 308/348/355 though. Are you sure that's what you want?...

If you're after a sportscar feel with an auto 'box, you might like to consider tiptronic 911s? For the price of a 456 you can buy a 996 turbo tiptronic S...
