Overheating!!

Ive got a 2001 tuscan and it is currently overheating even when both fans come on they dont seem to keep the temprature down and it just keeps rising. Any ideas on what the problem could be. Also cigarette lighter isnt working where can the fuse box be found?

You may have an air lock, or coolant level may just be low.

Fuse box is under steering wheel, to the right. Do a search to find the fuse numbers.

Iv filled it up with water and the fans are still coming on and not keeping the temp down. Could it b any thing else?

Radiator may need bleeding or is the thermostat stuck shut? How quickly does it overheat and does it do it when you've got decent airflow through the rad? (i.e. when you're moving)

Can I hijack this thread cos mine's overhating now...
Rmaurer - it overheats to 115o after standing in traffic for a couple of minutes.
When moving it's back down again.
Fans do come on.
Has lost 1l fluid in 3 weeks, can't see any puddles though. Evaporation or must be a leak eh..?
Would you say bleeding or thermostat sticking? How would you know?
Guess I'll put into a garage pronto..

I think the cigar lighter fuse is #20, 5th one down on the left-hand side, should be a 10A I think.

If there's no noticeable loss of coolant and the fans are definitely coming on but temps still rising then it must be the thermostat I'd have thought - unless there is not enough coolant in the system in the first place?

Could also be the expansion tank cap,they are also a pressure relief & can leak after time, worth changing for the sake of £5 or so, better still buy a Leven one then you can tighten it properly & get it off again!
