I've recently had my griff 500 returned from my local indie with a lovely new 5.2 crank assembly from V8Developments.
So I'm beginning to run it in and have done just 300 miles so far (not much I know). I know that i can expect the engine to use alot of oil during this period but man alive! yikes it's nearly costing me as much in oil as it is in fuel!
Rob at V8D has confirmed that it can take quite a while for oil consumption to come down after this kind of rebuild but it would be nice to get some real numbers from anyone who has experienced something similar.

cheers

Matt.

Well, haveing blown smoke all the way to Newcastle and back and put in so much oil it's embarrassing I've decided it's back to the garage for the poor thing.

I assume you've put some interesting bits in your engine ray....can you elaborate?
