wanted M12 GTO3 or 3R

youve probably read my other posts so allready know i will soon be looking for a noble, if not this one is aptly titled to catch a up and coming sellers eye as i would far rather buy a car from here than autotrader or dealer.

probably a bit early yet but thought i may as well try and stir a few thoughts in potential sellers. i reckon it will be July before i am completly ready to pay up and take delivery or maybe during a planned holiday to the UK 1st week august. (i work in germany with armed forces)

so enough of the dribble as the title says WANTED either

nicely sorted 3.0, by this i mean leather / alacante with 6 speed and LCD Diff mods as a minimum, colour, age, milage etc remains an open view, obviously no silly milages.

3R, must be 6 speed version with LSD diff the rest i remain open minded as above.

Mine will be up for sale at the end of the month, not sure if you would be interested, but its a lovely example, its Silver M12 GTO-3, 03 plate, 24,000 miles, (5-speed) just had it serviced, fitted new fuel pump, new rear tyres, Pierelli Rosso's, new front skirt to be fitted (they tend to get chipped), bought it last September from Mole Valley in Chessington, never been tracked FNSH, will put it up for £27,950

Am selling it to buy a 3R, I love them so much, wicked car for under 28K

so, the skyline is now sold am i am looking actively looking for a noble.

either a 3R or a 3.0 but it must have 6 speed and LSD fitted.
i cant afford mid to high 30s so if your 3r is priced in this margin i am sorry its not for me.

actaully when you look really closley there isnt much at all, there isnt a single GTO 3.0 that has 6 speed and LSD so that only leaves 3Rs, a few are available from Dove who i have spoken too and plan to visit week after next, the one at 31+K has actually sold and the ones at the back for 35+K are too expensive for me.

from what i see there is only one private one for sale and sadly black isnt one of my preferred colours

I have been thinking of swopping to a Caterham R400 or R500 for some months now, but after Donny yesterday I have some renewed love for her!

Once my dealer and I have fixed the brake judder and rumble issue (getting a new CV and bearing this week) it should be back to its usual perfectness.

TBH I'm totally stumped as to what to do!!

Sean - plenty of GTO3 's have the six speed box and lsd - mine has

I think he is saying there are none in the classified at the mo with a six speed box.

Sell it and get an R300 if caterham is what you want. They are stupidly quick and at least the engine isn't 10 seconds away from grenading unlike the 400/500.

I will email you after it has come back from Elite Motor Tune (sound okay guys) to sort out a blow from the rear manifold. Like i said i want it to be spot on for the next owner. I dont want them making the same mistake i did

I heard from an owner that the R500 was prone to have engine problems. A friend had an R400 (great car) without any trouble. However, as it was the K series engine running at 200bhp I expect there could be 'over stressed' related issues, as there is supposed to be with the K series engine Exige S1 192bhp (e.g. head gasket failure). The new R400 uses a Duratec 2.0 lump at 210bhp - hopefully this will be better. Then there's the Cosworth Duratec 260bhp CSR. Not sure how reliable these are but I want one Although they are a LOT of money at the wrong side of £40k.
