has any of you a 5 ltr carbed rover V8 in their griffith? what are your experiences? what set up? what's the best kit around? i've asked john eales to let me know if he's likely to build one of his 400hp engines with nice dell'ortos on top of it...

You could spend less money and have an edelbrock/carter unless you want to have an 8 pack. The carter works really well by all accounts and is really simple.

if i passed to carbs i'd go the weber or dell'ortos path...i'd like to hear the comments of somebody who has either of them on top of a griff 500 engine...

They will certainly make more power but will be fiddley to keep in tune and I'm not sure what you'll do for filtration. Let's hope you can do it.

side draught manifold would be nice - used to have one on Tony Ponds TR8 - then you could keep your bonnet std with a bit of luck - i was looking to go this route with throttle bodies (when I thought i had some money..) - but just too expensive

John demoed a set up with TBs, sounded nice - bit worrying as mechanic was holding fuel feed pipe in a bucket of petrol at back of car (no tank) - John said ' just gotta watch it doesnt backfire when i blip it...!!'

Thanks mate...its pretty keen I must say.

Tuscan Challenge RV8 on original TVR manifolds and Dellortos.
John Eales took it out to 5 Litres from the original 4.5 and thats pretty much how it is now.

was 404bhp, but has been rebuilt to run in group b of the TVRCC Challenge.
Not sure of the numbers now, we'll be checking next week.

Smooth as silk from 1600revs, pulls like a jumbo from anywhere. rev limited at 6.4k now, was 7.8 eek

Can be asee at Snetterton on 17th June...in the Challenge.
