Probably been covered lots of times but I have to ride with my visor slightly open due to it misting up, bit disappointed after spending £400 on a helmet and they can't sort out something so simple.

Any ideas tips?

Rain-X or lightly smear some Fairy Liquid on the inside of the visor with a dry soft cloth.

Spend 150 quid on a Nolan, mines been fine, last night in the rain and fog was a revelation compared to my old Shark. Do you have some sort of "foggy" thing that goes over your nose?

Seconded, I have one and the visor can be really fogged up, the bit it covers is still as clear as it'll get!

I got a Arie RX7 with pinlock and a new Viper aria also with pinlock and they are just amazing. been wearing them since Oct last year daily and no problems with fogging

get yourself a pinlock , worth there weight in gold.

also had a few fog city inserts but prefer the pinlock

Not had a helmet yet that hasn't needed a fog city to keep the inside clear in cold/damp/wet weather.
Been using them over 10years on my clear visors.
Even more important for those of us who commute all weathers.

yes Mate, I had all sorts of problems with this....But the fairy liquid is brilliant. Just rub a tiny amount in with a duster, and bingo! Keep re-applying once a week and you'll never suffer again.

I tried the Fairy Liquid today. It really works well. Even in the rain I could sit waiting at the lights with the visor fully down and it was totally clear.

What are you talking about? I thought pinlock was the way my fog city insert was fitted, not a whole different thing...

Fairy Liquid is the known method, has been for at least 30 years, costs nothing. Just like washing in Avon So Soft keeps midgies away when camping. I've done both since I were a lad.

Now it is summer, I'd say a fog city shield is worth trying. They can be a bit of a pain in the dark but are great otherwise.

I don't think tht you should be pissed off, as I think that all helmets do this. The seal is too good when it is fully closed, so most of us ride with it open a tiny bit to get lots of air through.

Yes, you are right about the tiny opening of the visor. I have two models of Aria helmet, which have a little black clip, thatkeeps the visor open a smidgen.

Oh, and I've always used fairy liquid on my visor. It keeps my hands nice and soft when I've done the Dishes.

Great advice, thanks.

Tried the fairy liquid today, definite improvement, think I may still try the pinlock inserts as I had terrible trouble getting the marrygolds on

Do you actually ride it on damp frosty mornings, when the ice still hangs in the dips, long before dawn, through the fog, with the visor full closed?

I only ask, as I could have said the same about my visor looking back on my Baja ride, or my raid across the Sahara...

It is when the air is sub zero, the moisture is just gagging to drop out of the air, and you have a firm seal that these issues tend to become important.
