Looking at buying a 1999 4.5 cerb just woundering about yearly costs i have a budget of £2000 a year would this be about right?
Its done about 25000 miles and has never been on the track.
Are they just prone to breaking or is it down to luck.
Also would it be worth to take out a warrenty on it?
please help or it could be the 350Z instead.

You wouldnt be far off with a £2k budget, spent about £3 on mine in 18 months (including 12000 mile service.)Whichever Cerb you buy, checkout its service history VERY CAREFULLY! Make sure its been serviced at correct intervals, check if clutch has been replaced along with ancillaries. You cant run a Cerb on a shoestring budget,as for a warranty i would check what it covers exactly, personally i would save the premium & spend it on the car when it does go wrong~BUY ONE!~YOU WILL NEVER TAKE THE SMILE OFF YOUR FACE!

One important factor,if its an everyday car your after i wouldnt recommend a Cerb, you will wreck it!Go for the 350Z,if its a second car to play in~DEFINATLY THE CERB!!!

Not sure if I would fully agree with the "second car" only thoughts, my Cerb is my only car - ok I don't drive it every day as use the tube but most days it gets a run and its never been a problem. There are plenty others on here that do the same and some that commute daily in it. but if you are doing big mileages like 12k a year you will be doing 2 services - thats gonna be expensive.

Most people wont want to use a cerb as an every day car - certainly not after a year of ownership or so. They are expensive when you pile the miles on and they are not a relaxed cruiser, traffic car etc etc Some poeople are fine with it but I would say they are in the minority.

Buy one! hehe

Click on my profile, then 'Forums' and read the one 'Just Got The Nod' - it has loads of info for you on buying a 4.5 Cerb.

I haven't checked where you're based but a trip down to Austecs tomorrow (Sat 19th) from 10am will be well worth it as they'll be loads of Cerbs & owners down there for the free rolling road day - all of which will be more than happy to answer all your questions in my experience.

Been looking at a 4.5 myself, quite a few people recommended the AA warranty at only £65 a year! you can claim 5 times upto a cost of £500 each time, as long as the car is under 10 years old and 100000 miles, so no problem for you.
