scratchchinI have removed the rad, fans and steel pipes on the grif and will be replacing them this weekend with a recored rad (excellent local job) 2 new fans (original type, but waterproof, new £50 each) and SS pipes. The rad was installed with a continuous rubber section between it and the body, but no radiator cotton reel mounts. Were these a later mod?
In removing the rad I sheered both top/side bolts within the captivated nuts. Any advise on best remedy appreciated.

Do you mean you need the rubber bobbins or that you still have the bobbin secured but the stud as sheared?and your left with the bobbin still attached to the body.

My rad isn't located with bobbins. It is bolted through the captivated nuts within the bodywork and supported on 10mm continuous rubber strip around its perimeter. Having given some thought to the problem, I think I will cut slots into the projecting part of the bolt and screw the bolts through . I am wary of using bolt extractors as they can easily shear themselves whilst being turned.
