A4 Engines \ Specs
Discussion
Hi All,
A family friend is considering an A4 saloon. It will be second hand (say 1-3 years old) he'd like one with a high specification. He hasn't given an indication of budget either but I expect the RS4 to be out of the running.
Mileage is around 10k per year so he's after a petrol.
I said i'd ask around and see what the options are - Can someone give us an idea of what the trim levels are like along with engine options?
Thanks in advance,
Phill

Your best net is to have a look at the Audi new car configurator website. The current specs will not be that different for 1-3yr old cars.
Basically SE and Sport / S-Line are availble with all engines I think. SE covers all the basics and Sport trims get you bigger wheels, sports suspension and a bodykit.
And like most German cars, it's all about the options outside of the std spec packages ie xenons, sat nav, leather etc..

Even though you say its just for 10k a year, as it is a VAG the tdi diesel engines are quite a bit better than the 1.6 and 2.0 standard petrol engines as you have the turbocharger, torque and superior economy. Other than that stay away from the very basic entry level trimmed cars and try and make sure its a facelifted model.
