Non-e-marked ACB10s for road use?
Discussion
Think they need to be compatible with "Construction & use regs" though there has been case law regards tyres marked "For Competition Use Only" where the tyres were deemed legal for road use.
Bit of a grey area TBH should an accident occur the insurance co will have lots of leverage not to pay out. Though from memory are'nt ACB10's road legal just not E marked???

It's a tricky one re ACB10's. The "Caterham" ones are e-marked and have all the loading info etc. These are formula ford ones which have competition only and none of the load stuff.

Mitsubishi Evos are imported into the country, and sold, with
Japanese fit Yokohama A-046 tyres, which are not e-marked.
Further you are unable to get replacement A-046, as Yokohama say
that they are not rated to be used in the UK climate - not rated
below 7 degrees centigrade.
So, it MUST be legal to drive on non-emarked tyres.........unless
you know different.

PS. If anyone wants some part worn A-046s, let me know

It's worth having a look at the MSA Blue Book, (or whatever it's called these days), as that lists tyres that are legal for road use. I seem to remember that the tyres mentioned so far were on the lists in the book. More importantly perhaps is the fact that I seem to remember that there was a list of competition tyres that WERE NOT legal for road use. Any competition license holder will have a copy, (anyone here?)
just scanned my blue book, and I think it's not too helpful regarding this question. It has lists of 1A and 1B tyres, but that is not specifically connected with road legality. "ACB10 Sports" are in 1B. I know you can get e-marked and non-e-maredk ACB10s. The specifics re road use are they need to obey Con and Use and be road legal.
