does anyone know if a steering boss can be used off another vehicle.

Which part do you mean exactly? Lots of parts were interchanged with BL vehicles at that time.

i am wanting to fit a momo or similar steering wheel, but you need a boss to suit, just wondered if i could pinch one off another car.

Now I get you. I did this years ago with my Momo. Probably got the boss from Rimmers.

That would have to be a late Spitfire one. The early ones, pre March 1977, with the Herald/TR6 stalks on the column, were different.

Yup, late Spitfire 1500 uses the same steering column/switch gear.
