Can anyone give advice, tell you background, last week car MIL kept coming on and off, half a mile from home started really losing power.Firstly had to change HT leads as couple had broken off at speak plug connection, then found out from HHC TVR to check coil for splits, which they were, now changed them, but I have to wait for HT leads 1&2 as new ones not long enough, but have temporary ones on at moment(bit tight in length but car is running. I see one of the main problems is that the passenger side manifold heats up very quickly (untouchable) within 1 - 2 mins. Anyone with advice as to whats up with it.

Cheers

Sounds as if you have a misfire on that bank, this would show up as rough running and loss of power plus loads of heat into the exhaust. It can quickly damage other components such as lambda sensors, catalytic converter etc and may even be a fire hazard.

If the car has been running with an ignition fault then it may have fouled the plugs, in which case you would need to replace these after you have corrected the original problem.

GreenV8S Peter, Excuse my ignorance of knowledge. When you say "a misfire on that bank" would one of the HT leads broken that I found be that cause and when I changed HT leads on number 3 plug they was a little dark oil around that plug. When you say "has it been running with an ignition fault", what do you mean.

How do I correct lean running on that bank

Cheers Sid
