I am looking at a car a chap called John Pullicino is selling on behalf of a friend who is overseas.

Is John known to any of you for the right reasons, or do I need to be on my guard?

I am arranging to view at his house as his commercial premises are being refurbished - do any of you know what company name he trades under (I've heard Pullicino Classics) and where his commercial premises is located?

Thanks for your help -

As I said earlier - I lost sight of him when he moved from his showroom in Wandsworth (Isn't it now Joe Macari's?). IIRC Karl Virdi bought his EB110 from John - I'm sure someone will confirm that on here. Didn't his brorther Mark pas away a couple of years ago.

A lot of interesting (and significant) Italian cars passed through their hands over the years, that's for sure.

rubystone - many thanks, had clocked your reply on the Porsche forum and your note had prompted me to post here.

A search on this forum has confirmed his history in dealing with expensive and unusual cars which tallies with the discussion I had with him on the test drive and your view. As you point out he seems to have a long history in both dealling and racing in anything from humble porkers through to more unusal Lambo and Fezza exotica.

Whilst the RS you saw sounded poor, the car I saw looked like a very tidy example and my view is if, like you, I keep my eyes open then there should be no suprises.

I am interested in John's legitimacy as a trader however as he does not seem to have a website or business premises. I will check out Joe Macaris, and if any others have any additional information, that would be appreciated.

Pullicino Classics is registered at an address in City Road - not a place where you'd be able to squeeze even a Smart Car in! Google it and you'll see what I mean.

not that this makes any real difference to know, but I can confirm that Mark Pullicino died in a road accident during May 2005

It also appears dissolved as of 2002:

www.ukdata.com/company-credit-reports/PULLICINO-CLASSICS-LTD.html

Whats the story there - finished off by the theft do you think badapple?

Point I want to get to is is there any reason why my mate should worry about completing a transaction with this guy, and so far there's nothing I have read that make me believe he's not legitimate. If however he confirms to me he is trading under Pullicino Classics however then I'm worried...

I had a mate who bought a 930 3.3 turbo from them back in 1994 that was cheap and he got what he paid for. NO Complaints. I have many other mates that have the highest regard for pullicino and I am fully aware of the dreadful accident and the circumstances envolved. In truth do your homework, have the car inspected and all will be well. I personally would not hesitate in buying a car from them once prudent precuations had been taken. Hope that this is of help, regards Graeme

I bought a few cars from John and Mark. On occasions they were a bit hard work, especially to get everything you were promised...documentation mainly, but I found them a pleasure to deal with mostly, and they always had interesting cars. They both seemed genuine car nuts! Vary sad about Mark!

Seem to remember hearing there was some hassle over a Bugatti...and the company was wound up (Dealshow TA Pullicino Classics) IIRC.

I'd buy from him again......wonder what happened to the 962 engined Kremer 930 he was getting.
