Insurance cheaper than tax?

I've just insured my car for £183.75 for 12 months, 3000 miles with Hagerty .
At that price it's only £3.75 more than road tax!

Hopefully next year I will be paying less in insurance than road tax - and hopefully road tax won't go up again

That seems a good price for a Griff (interested as I have been considering a pre-cat Griff as a possible next step after the Vixen).

Can beat you on the figures though - Vixen S2 Insurance £115 for 3000 miles pa and tax exempt
