Nitron Reliability

Frustrated after wanting to re-set the dampers, of Suffolk writes ...
I have had mine for a little over 2 years, and I have had 2 adjusters go on seperate dampers, the ratchet goes rendering then useless. I have taken others advise on how to get them working again and have achieved this with both, although results are far from spectacular. One of them is back to being useless inside 3 months and 2000 miles, the other is only marginally better than useless.
All of my dampers live in dampers bags and have done so since day 1, they are regularly sprayed with lubricant just to keep them in great condition.
What I get back is "you should get 'em serviced every couple of years". These are allegedly quality items, designed for road use. They are not some cheap aternative. I realise I could spend thousands on dampers if I wanted, but at over £200 a corner these are far from cheap. At £50 a corner for servicing that's not cheap either !
What are others experiences ?

Have found the click goes missing on mine sometimes but so far simply winding from one end to the other brings it back to life. Seems to be the front more that the rear so perhaps it is heat from the manifold and it may be worth inverting them Had mine off over the weekend to change the springs and hadn’t really noticed before how nicely engineered they are. Assuming they are as nice on the inside as out that has to be good. I thought 50 quid was quite reasonable for service. Sent the rear ones back last year as I blamed them for a twitch when lifting off to change gear, (turned out to be a loose bolt on the rear toe adjustment). They tested and recalibrated to get and exact match, nice quick service, helpful on the phone etc.
Have no experience of “other” dampers and their support but the fact you can phone up and speak to the guy that makes them for advise has to be a bonus.
In Summary, quite happy with mine thanks.

I've had mine for 2 yrs now. I don't regularly wind through the clicks but do when I'm at track days. I sent the front ones back after a year as the adjuster on one side had stiffened up and then when trying to turn it it lost all clicks. (You can bounce the suspension up and down and after a while the clicks come back.)
Last year I found the no. of clicks kept reducing to just 3 or 4. After many turns back and forth the other clicks would gradually come back. Agreed with Guy to have them serviced again but typically when it went into the garage they were all fine! In fact they've been fine for the last few months.
Sadly, they're not a fit and forget item but then again they are probably the best shocks you can fit on a TVR without spending £,000s. Guy is a top bloke too and that counts for a lot.

Did the bench version of that to get them back, but gone again.

Had the same experience .... and servicing seems to be where I'm gonna end up, just don't think that's all that reasonable after only a couple of years use, perhps it's just me ...

It's not nice to be landed with an unexpected bill, but I think you'll find that many of the good quality damper suppliers recommend routine servicing every year or every other year.
