Hi All,

Picked up a 97 Griff on Saturday. It's mechanically sound but needs a little TLC. I'm looking for somebody to supply and fit the rear roof (soft top section), fit new plastic glass and retrim targa section. Best price I've found so far is close to £500 all in. Anybody know of a cheaper option?

Also the black leather interior would benefit from black leather dye and feed. Does anybody have any experience of this? I'll do it myself but would like to know what the best product is.

Thanks all,

Rob

Hi

That's a very fair quote considering just the materials alone cost around 350 pounds - but make sure they know what they're doing - ask to see examples of their previous work.

For the leather Gliptone do dyes and conditioners.

Thanks for the info Jay. They came recomended by Austec so there should be no problems with quality.

Cheers,

That's a good quote. It's excatly what AJS Trimming charged me. Andy makes the hood from scratch for a perfect fit (inc. crease free rear window) and double stitches the window in for longevity. He's in Bourne End near Marlow.

Definately - although it is just a standard 500 - yours has a few 'mods' then?!!

J.E Enginering didn't have a great deal of info on the engine when I rang them but they did send me a letter with a few bits & bobs. It was a stiff block 3.9 from a Rangie, bored and stroked to 4445cc, their own '101' cam, big valves etc. It's a beautifull engine it just tears up to 5k rpm. I've only been over 5k rpm once or twice, there's just no need. Be very interesting to compare them. thumbup
