Anyone know where I can get an ehaust welded up in South Essex??

The Exhaust let go between the downpipe and the cat today (lots of noise and Vibrations)!!

Sounds rather throaty

However Toyota want £600-£700 for the downpipe, £300 for the cat, and about £200+ for the backbox, oh and £30 x2 for the exhaust trims. All + VAT yikes

The flange has sheared from the downpipe. It looks quite solid and potentially weldable. I was wondering if anyone knows someone in South Essex that may be able to rejoin my exhaust into one piece again

Thanks in advance

You will probably find that most 'under the arches' type mechanics will be able to weld it for you.

Try Pipecraft in Basildon, they make one-off exhaust from all materials and do repairs, they've made a de-cat pipe and new tail pipes for my mondeo to my spec and were reasonably priced. I've got their number in my car if you need it.

Just come back to this thread. Thanks for all the replies.

Hayward & Scott couldn't do it, as they only weld stainless, so didn't bother going to them.

My father had also got these two contacts aswell last week.

Not happy at all though.

Pipecraft are very good and really helpful. They did my 260Z a few years ago exactly how I wanted it and for a good price too!

I used Pipecraft years ago when they were in Chadwell Heath, and they were very good.
Their premises in Chadwell Heath have now been taken over by FlowTech. The two company's are sort of sister company's, I believe.
I have FlowTech's number in my car, will get it if its needed. They are going to weld up my manifolds for me, hopefully next weekend.
