Happy days/new car
Discussion
Hi Folks.
Well, after many months of searching, and posting on pistonheads, ive found and brought a car.
Thanks everyone for all your help and advice, the seller contacted me after reading my ad, and the whole buying process was very good, only had the car 2 days, have to say its been a long time since ive had so much fun.
The car is a Sylva striker, with a 1.6 x-flow,kent cam and twin carbs, and as im disabled its an auto, and fitted with hand controls, plus quick release steering wheel.
Not sure how to post a pic, ill give it a try, who knows what will happen.

Hi there, well done on buying your car, where in North Essex are you, I have a Westfield and my mate has a Tiger, we meet up with the Norfolk and Suffolk Westfield owners club every month, you would be very welcome to come along, we usually have a good mixture of cars turn up. I also meet up with the East Anglian Piston heads every month,

Then you've come to the right place! Whereabouts are you??I'm in Sible Hedingham and I like to support the Locostbuilders.co.uk boys when they get out and about. Check out the website forum and keep an eye on 'Clubs and Events'.
I'm venturing down to Chelmsford 'Tulip' pub on Sunday to meet some very nice chaps from the Robin Hood Club (although last time there were a big variety of makes there).
There are discussions going on currently about a possible 8th of June meet at Mount Bures, which is about as North Essex as you can get!!
Ooh! I just checked, you're up the road in Ridgewell!!
I'll pop over sometime soon perhaps. I love Strikers. There's a guy in the village with one. That's a crossflow in Green!!

By the way..
Your pic link.
The brackets after the link should be [/pic] NOT [pic]...
That's why it didn't work.

Well, thanks everyone for your replies, guilty of not being on piston heads much of late, been having far too much fun with the new car.
So far so good, done over 400 miles with no problems, getting on fine with the autobox, although its very differant from the one in my nissan navara, to be expected i guess what with the age differance.Does tend to "hunt" for gears when holding around 40ish, i just knock it into 2nd, seems to do the trick.
Only other real problem is smell of petrol, car is kept in garage with adjoining door into house, wife not happy, say no more. If anybody has any tips id be grateful, may have to sell her at this rate, the WIFE that is, not the car.
So please, keep those local meets coming, thanks to Ferg for an invite out this coming friday, much appriciated, keep them coming folks
Oh, just remembered, someone asked where abouts i am, nth essex, village called Ridgewell.
