Recieved a stone to the windscreen yesterday which left a large chip which quickly led to a crack developing.

Auto windscreens have said that they can do the job. They have said that they are sourcing the side trims and that they want the car for at least 4 hours and it has to be at the depot. None of this was prompted, and they seem to know what to do.

Is there anything I need to know before I let them get their hands on the Cerb?

Hmmmm. I have a stone chip which I do need to get sorted, but I will go to a TVR garage and have them handle the windscreen replacement. Yes, I know they will just get a windscreen company in, but they will probably always use the same one and hopefully they will be used to fitting TVR's. Furthermore, if there are any problems and other stuff needs removing, the garage will be able to do this.

Maybe I'm just fussing, but those are my thoughts for what they're worth!

Yes, I must. I nearly got it done the other day as Autoglass have taken to setting up in Supermarket car parks to do just this, unfortunately, they were just packing up as I pitched up! rolleyes

If they are very careful they they don't need the side trims as they can reuse them. That's what happened to mine as the side trims are/were in short supply.

Had a look today and the side trims have got a bit of give in them. Had a call from from them today, saying 1 of the possible screens is available in a day or so, but the other possible could be 2 weeks. Don't know which one is req'd yet.

What are the 2 possible screens?? I think the different types are Heated or non-heated, and Green top tint or no top-tint Just make sure they know yours is the narrow, earlier one.
