I know that recommended suspension settings, geometry settings etc. do change from time to time. Have recommendations for tyre pressures stayed the same? I've been going by this general rule when checking tyre pressures on my T350 (generally using 24psi all round):

Front: 225/35 ZR18 tyres @ 24psi
(30psi Track/sustained high speed / fully laden)
Rear: 235/40 ZR18 tyres @ 24psi
(32psi Track/sustained high speed / fully laden)

Is this still the best settings to use? I got my car back from a service at TVR Power and they have set the pressures to about 30psi all round. 30psi is quite a jump from 24psi, the only time I've had the tyres higher than this was on a driver training day on an airfield to save my tyres.

What would people recommend I set the pressures to for my trip to Le Mans (fully laden and sustained high speed)? 30psi front 32psi rear?

To be honest I forgot about the recommendation for the higher psi for "Track/sustained high speed / fully laden" so I have always tried to stick to 24psi all round increasing it slightly for a trip to Italy / Nurburgring.

It seems the dealer like to put in 30 and most people run on 24 or 26. confused

30/32 sounds pretty high - she'll be very jumpy at that pressure. I run 24 all round all the time and have had no issues even on 1000-mile round trips to Holland. And, as I'm sure your Le Mans trip will duplicate, I wasn't dawdling.

I wouldn't raise her above 26 to "save the tyres" as I think you'll feel the cost yourself over that sort of distance.

I think I went up to the high 30s on the airfield but that was to stop wearing the side walls of the tyres while I was going sideways or spinning around... (airfield driver training is highly recommended by the way )

I went to Italy via the 'ring and kept the tyres on around 26psi all round, even after stocking up on booze at Calais. It is surprising how much you can fit in a T350!

I'm certainly running 24psi all-round. Found it the best set-up for road

24 at all times on the road - empty or full. A bit of heat soon ups the pressure on fast motorway runs anyway.

Agree 24psi all round as suggested by the dealer I got it from. Mine came back 26psi all round from different dealer following service last year. Didn't feel quite right.

24psi on the sagaris as well;

Inflate them with high purity nitrogen and they will stay at 24psi no matter what (apart from puncture!)

Yeah, I use a 78% Nitrogen solution.

Dr Darren
I've got SP12s on with 265 rears. They feel ok on 26, but no higher.
