I've got the pleasure of 6 points (2 x speeding) coming off my license on the next 2 weeks, just before my insurance is due.

GREAT!!

BUT!!!

Insurance deal with 5 years before they disregard points.. How can this be right?!!!? confused furious

OK, thanks Pete.

I guess it's this bit in particular?

"Conditional discharge, probation order, binding over, care order, supervision order - 1 year after conviction of the order or 1 year after the order ends, whichever is the longer."

Just seemed a tad odd..

If the points were just for speeding then I would have thought it would be more to do with this:

"Fine - 5 years"

Don't know for definite though...

Well the thing that bugs me is that my points can come off after 4 years. I would therefore ave a clean license.
BUT insurance takes items into account 5 years after the event. Just seems a bit sneeky
