I've heard a rumour that the min legal tyre tread in France is more than in the UK...

(I'd heard 4mm but that just sounds stupid)



Can anyone shed some light?

The important thing about tyres in France is that the they have to be matching on an axle - in other words both front tyres have to be the same make and type as each other, and the back ones have to match each other, although front and back can be different.
