Had my windscreen replaced due to a chip and scratches. Trouble is it looks like the wipe is scratching the new screen yikes

Have checked the blades and they seem fine - just looks like rubber against glass. Anyone had this?

Car is booked (kind of) into Picadors for the door handle but do not want the screen to get too scratched.

Are you getting a little patch of scratching (about 2 inches top to bottom) to the right of the drivers view at the limit of blade travel? Both my Monaro CV8 have this. I even asked one of the stone chip repair guys if there was anything could be done... answer was not by them. Suggestion was a jeweller might be able to polish it out. However cause unknown.

Also have patch at end of travel drivers side - mid length of the blade - again cause unknown I am afraid

Me too. Can't see why it's doing it but I'd love to get it fixed.

Hmm, so we all have exactly the same problem.

Is there anyone with an 04 CV8 that does not have this issue?

After replacing the windscreen and seeing it again I had both blades replaced which has done the job.

Would suggest keeping an eye on it as there is no noise or sign of it really.

Windscreens fine but my RH wiper makes an annoying click at end of travel, anyone else with this or am I just lucky?

Probably find that it is a little bit too long... chop chop, (just a little bit), and you should find it goes away. Atleast that is what my problem was.

Mine used to do that, got a new set in Oz when I was there and strangely enough they were shorter than what was on there. Now no click and the wiper stays short of the edge of the screen. Got some with fins on so they stay stuck to the screen at higher speeds as well.

This scratching is caused by a build-up of muck half way along the driver's side wiper.
Caused either by the fact that there is no black plastic spoiler in front of the wiper at this point, or the fact that there is a vent right there.
Either way, you need to regularly clean the wiper to prevent the build-up of the dirt and the resultant scratching.
Problem is I discovered this too late and now have a badly scatched windscreen :-(

had both these problems on my 04 VXR
the knocking was simply solved by slightly bending the wiper, so that it no longer hit windscreen surround, and I agree with agholding for the scratches.
