Lincolnshire Police have started looking for thieves who broke into one of their police stations.

Burglars got into the Coningsby office in the early hours of Monday and stole a police hat and a police radio which has since been deactivated.

They got into the station on Silver Street through the town clerk's office next door.

Officers think they have a good chance of catching the thieves as they might boast in a pub about their exploits.

"It is unusual that a police station gets broken into," said Insp Jason Kwee.

"The officers are naturally concerned and all burglaries are quite upsetting.

"The feelings of some of the officers are no doubt no different to any other victim of crime in that someone has invaded their space and taken their belongings."

The toilets were stolen. A police spokesperson said, ... [wait for it] ... "We have nothing to go on!"

I'll get my coat.

Und grainy CCTV scams showed shadowy hooded und balaclava figures making off with the toilet seats. hehe before making their get away in police car - taking keys police had thoughtfully left in a drawer at the office.

14 day later a NIP arrived und the police genuinely did not know who was driving this car for once. wink Und as driver was wearing fishnet tights under his helmet further evidence was inconclusive. rolleyes

Imagine the call to report the burgalry. "I'm sorry to hear you have had a break in Inspector, we don't have any officers available to come out at the moment so i'll give you a crime number for the insurance"

That's what happened to me, so did it happen to them?

I was just about to say that - they are actually investigating this one are they?

What a surprise.
