I wondered about posting this ... and then decided that I didn't care what anyone thought ...

What a week! ... where do I start?

It all started when my dad was taken into hospital while we were at Knockhill.

It's his 80th birthday today (23rd). My middle brother is coming home from Sweden on Thursday and I haven't seen him for ages. My dad has a bottle of 1927 Armingac and what he wants for his birthday is to tan it with his three loons.

Steph points out that the four of us barely manage to tolerate each other when sober but adding alchohol normally results in us fighting (phsically). She reckons she'll give my mum a hand removing breakable items from whatever room were're in.

I was worried about Murray's brother this week but got a couple of texts from Murray's missus tonight. Following surgery, things look a lot brighter than I feared. Brilliant.

Saw my own consultant this morning and was worried that I'd be in trouble for chucking the nasty drugs I'd been prescribed last year. Her reaction was that I was quite right since I didn't feel great. My liver function is now spot on as well. Result! (roll on Murray coming home!)

Got a call from Gary Muir last night and spoke to Tacey-Louise later on. All being well, I'm going up to Boyndie on Sunday for this kart day and I'll be giving the Lilac Loser a blat round the track (hopefully, I'll have the new beast with me too).

Been meaning to speak to Mark for about a week but with my dad being in the hospital, it hasn't been easy - I'll try to call tomorrow (I owe you a couple of bits min!). I've also got John Sorrie's race suit in my car all nicely laundered.

Tomorrow (today) I'm travelling on business. Wednesday night, I get a train from Darlington to Edinburgh. Steph and I are staying in Malmaison in Leith - something I've always wanted to do. On Wednesday night, we're planning on eating in Fisher's although she might meet up with her sister - which would be equally cool.

Plan is on Thursday to do two things. I want to see the royal yacht and Steph wants to go to the zoo (as do I). Hopefully we'll manage both.

On Thursday afternoon, we'll be going to Murray Motors in Sighthill (Shite-hill) for the unveiling ceremony and then driving the new car up the road - can't wait!

Do the bottle of Armingac with my old boy and Steph will drive home.

Friday I'm in work - which is fine. I applied (internally) for a job today and I anticipate that my current manager (in London) will question my motives ... which are completely genuine.

Saturday, I hope to get a couple of things sorted with the wee car and tidy up at Mark's place.

Saturday night we'll be going to the birthday party of a very close and dear friend. I'll be driving (and hence, not drinking) but that's fine as they live in the back of beyond (late night / unclassified roads / Steph asleep in the passenger seat).

Sunday up at Boyndie as mentioned before.

Next weekend, Golspie - my favourite event.

Can life possibly get any better? (aye, Murray could be at home)

Cheers,

Eric smile

Good that Gail passed on the good news about Archie, I am happy, he must be deliriously so.

I am actually coming home a little earlier than planned, 2nd June (sat), but fly out again on the 3rd, i don't know if you have an event that wekend but if not i could possibly stop off at a drinking establishment on the sat afternoon on my way home biggrin

Eric,

No rush with the suit, if I have it by July I'm happy!

You'll enjoy Malmaison. But, if I was away to collect wait you're away to collect there'd be little chance of me getting any sleep - nice hotel or no nice hotel!

Maybe see you Sunday (ALL: remember to record the Grand Prix!)
