Is there any good companies out there that provide this service(Does it even exist?) I basically want to use a phone number that look like a landline number but actually goes straight through to my mobile

I use www.voipfone.co.uk and they offer a feature like this. Costs £2.99/month to rent the land line number and then about 14p/min to take a call.

Very useful, though the cost does add up. You can also use it via normal VOIP when your in the office and just have the rollover to mobile when your out.

thanks for that, can you use this service to completely bypass having a landline, or do you need one to connect to your mobile?

When you don't want to be disturbed, Call forwarding diverts your calls to another mobile or land line phone, or to your voicemail. You can usually control Call forwarding through your phone's menu. Or you can use the codes shown below.

To divert all calls to another phone

Dial ** 21* - enter the number of the phone you want to divert to - # Call To divert calls when your phone is busy

Dial ** 67* - enter the number of the phone you want to divert to - # Call To divert calls when unreachable (out of coverage or turned off)

Dial ** 62* - enter the number of the phone you want to divert to - # Call

Tip

Do not press ** in quick succession as this may give you the + symbol.

Check out the "Call Divert" option. 5 seconds before it diverts, and cheaper than the alternatives. What d'ya reckon?

The functionality certainly is good, but I couldnt figre out weather or not you needed a landline or not, and if they gave you a 08 number or not

No need for a landline, when you sign up you can have an 0870 number for free or pay £2.99/month for a geographical number.

All the admin's done through their website and you can use a bit of software to make/receive the calls over the internet via your computer or there is an option (in the members area of the website) to divert all calls to whichever number you choose (at your cost)

Redline communications do a 'follow me' box. Basically a box installed on your landline that diverts the call to your mobile at no extra cost - or so they say.

About £325 + VAT

Don't know if it's any good but I'm certainly interested in it.

Khushy, is that a flat fee of £10 or do you have to pay to receive calls too?

Sounds like a good deal actually.
