Hi

I have the summer off after finishing of my GCSE's, i am intrested in getting a job at a motorsport company or team, so I can gain experience and earn some cash before college.

I live in Swindon, Wiltshire.

Does anybody know of any comapinies or teams near me.

Depends on what you consider to be "near". What type of radius from Swindon are you thinking of?

Williams F1 are at Grove, near Oxford.

McLaren are at Woking, Surrey

Aren't we all?

You'll be lucky, I know of people who have unpaid 12 month work placements with some teams, the demand for jobs is so high they can afford not to pay people!

Good luck though, sorry if I pissed on your cornflakes smile

If you want to earn some money over the summer, go to the local job agencies and see what temp work is available. If you want to gain motorsport experience, find all the companies you can and offer to help them with a bit of spannering/preparation/cleaning/whatever, for free. Spend a few hours on the internet, researching who runs in what series, and where they are based - try everything from GT's to single seaters to historics, you're more likely to get in somewhere small that F1...

I'm not saying it couldn't happen, but you will be unlikely to get any paid work experience - there are simply too many people wanting to get involved.

That sounds like the right thing to do. Are you helping them back at base or at the circuit? If you are at the circuit then get chatting to the other teams there. A few days here and there will add up, and each time you are getting a bit more experience that you can use to sell yourself.

Hi

I am going to the base for about a week and maybe going two 2 races after my exams finish, i think i might be doing oulton park at end of June and Brands hatch in August, the race in britsports. I know somebody who is a mechanic in Britcar, Neil Garner.
