Hey guys,

Need some input. What would you recommend when it comes to tuning a 997 turbo (nothing with the engine so the car can be restored to stock). What I had in mind was full exhaust, DME, air-inlet (app. 550hp), wheels and some nice leather bits inside. Any company in the UK that are THE one to use (Parr, JZM etc...)? Re. tuning, any experience with different companies? Thinking of Cargraphic, Manthey, RUF, 9ff etc...?

Thanks!

fearnsport at silverstone modify alot of ph'ers turbos/gt2's, and look after mantheys/ruf's/cgt's aswell. i think they use revo for their ecu mods, and its proper ie not on a dyno... i wouldnt take my gt2 or rs anywhere else.

recent threads on them...

Without sounding biased, I think the best dme / sports exhaust only (plus air filter) must be kit 1 from Cargraphic.

The map and exhaust was developed on the engine dyno at RS Tuning. Tech 9 in Liverpool could probably get this stuff cheaper than the web prices.

Tech 9 can also furnish you with interior bits via Cargraphic or Techart

M400DGG - regards the DMS upgrade, I recall asking some time ago whether your motor had been massaged or not for the v-max just prior to you purchasing your car given you claimed it had 580 hp. To keep the record straight, I asked since I remember the DMS car was not discernibly faster than a stock 997TT (bar sports zorst) also there that day in October. After having the privilege of driving a 993 with a real 580hp this year, I know how much of a kicking the DMS 997 would have displayed if it did have that kind of power driving For the record I think the Tech 9 car did a 190 or 191 first run (not the 189 posted in the table).

I assume a good few on here think I (and others on various forums) bang on about power claims to a boring degree. But having spent (wasted?) my own hard earned on tuning my own car and seen lots of tuned turbos at v-max, it seems some firms do exaggerate their power claims smile

No disrespect meant here towards DMS, only saying it like I see it, and good debate is what this place is about sonar

Got the article, a good read.

I don't doubt for a moment the DMS re-maps enliven the TT's smile More some of the power claims are exaggerated, which grates when some have spent serious money via German tuners for the 'same' power driving

Would be great if some of these cars go to the next v-max to get some acc data via AX22 or the like for proper comparison ..... this is o/t 'tho and the stuff of a separate thread driving

completely agree with your sentiments re. tuners power increase figures. no substitute for in car mapping via the arse dyno. absoutely no int in knowing 'the number'. noise restrictions keep many of us away from vmax. not much keeps us from silverstone though.....smile

Most turbos are ok for the Brunters noise limits, so don't be shy smile
