Well, after a short pause in proceedings after fitting my stealth, I've now had my Chim rolling roaded - timing optimised (I wasn't too far out as it happens!) and the output measured. I don't have full "before" figures, as I was unknowingly suffering a kinked fuel hose before which was strangling the engine at 4500rpm and prevented a proper set of figures. The new figures are most satisfactory! Car is a '99 500, V8D stealth cam and otherwise std except removed pre cats.

Here's the print out....

Just shy of 295 hp and 318lbs of torque!

I just need another 6 bhp and I'm in the monster club!!laugh

Deffo quicker than before, and more responsive. Before I had to redo the head gasket, it was much less shunty aswell. Don't know why, but it's hesitant at very light throttle now. Looking into that one... got yours home now?

Nick, do you have any idea what your engine was putting out before the stealth cam?

Can't be sure as at my last rolling road session, i had a kinked fuel hose *not known at the time* and the revs hit a wall at 4500 rpm. Comparing the 2 graphs thoug, I would say the stealth is 20 hp up throughout the range

Fuelling is apparently bang on through the range, but I do have a low throttle hesitation see here:-

But I have to say, it wasn't like that when I first fitted the cam, only after I had to dismantle things again. mad

Just curious.
Are these 'at the wheels' figures?
If yes then you are allready well over 300BHP.
If not how are the figures recalculated back to flywheel?

Maybe my eyes are going, but looking at that sheet - was the engine revved to over 6500 rpm eek ?!?

Can you get the at the wheel figures off them, it would be interesting to know the power loss through the transmission.

I've compared my old power graph against the new stealth one and knocked up this table:-

Revs ¦ TVR ¦ Stealth
¦ HP LB/FT ¦ HP LB/FT

2250 ¦ 115 285 ¦ 130 268
3450 ¦ 190 282 ¦ 205 310
4000 ¦ 210 275 ¦ 240 313
4500 ¦ 225 260 ¦ 275 310
5150 ¦ - - ¦ 290 290
5400 ¦ - - ¦ 295 285

Can't quite get it to line up properly but hopefully it's clear enough. Never had results above 4700 rpm for old cam as it was hitting a wall due to kinked fuel hose. Massive gain at 4500!

I have this problem on my 400 with the V8D stealth cam, can you let me know what you find. I had just put it down the the characteristics of the cam.
