In the rear calipers, there's a fancy looking bolt that holds the handbrake release spring.

One of mine has sheered off so the handbrake doesn't let go properly on one side of the car.

I know they're Ford parts, so I went to the main dealer *shudder* and they told me that the parts were discontinued and couldn't be obtained.

Does anyone know where I can get one at short notice, other than scrap yards? The cars that these calipers came from are not exactly common.

Thanks

Dave it's gonna be a scrapyard job. The same bolts are used on all sorts of calipers though. I got one off a Sierra caliper. Very similar bolts are used on Girlings on the rear of 90s audis too.
IIRC I had to cut the threaded portion down a bit, but it's a perfect fit.

Thanks. I was afraid that would be the case.

Looks like plan B might have to be put in to operation - file the head off the bolt, drill it out and use the remainder as a bush for a new M6 hardened bolt...
