TVR in Irish republic?

I've recently seen several TVRs (T350 and Tuscan) driving around Dublin with Irish plates.

I had thought this impossible, since (I thought) only cars with full Euro type approval could be imported.

However, re-reading the regs, it seems that if a car is UK registered before import, it is assumed to be European type approved.

Has anyone here gone through the process, or know someone that has?

FWIW, I was thinking about a Vauxhall VXR8, but now I'm maybe widening my scope

Why don't you post thia also on the Ireland section. There are several TVR drivers there.

A lot more TVR's driving round Ireland, than just the ones you have seen.

You do need one so go on get in touch with the TVRCC ROI group.

You know it makes sence.
