exhaust popping and banging

i have just got a noble m12 gto and want to know about the noises that come from the exhaust ( popping and banging )is this normal on nobles or is there something wrong ???

any info would b gr8 cheers.

1) You're a very lucky boy. (i want them)

2) The previous owner has more than likely removed the cats or fitted an aftermarket system with no cats.

Who did you get the car off of and when?

I agree with the lounge lizard boy!

Check whether your exhaust is standard - if it is then there should be no popping and banging! If you don't know then post up a photo and we'll try to tell you. If it is bespoke then you need to contact the maker.

it may be that the throttle postion switch is not shutting fully and the car does not realsie its on the overrun

or it may have been mapped that way

you might find it puts out flames on the overrun too !

Yup, that's possible. If it carries on it'll be new turbo's time a lot quicker than normal.

I've a standard exhaust on a 2.5

il get it booked in n get it seen to at a performance centre just to b on the safe side apart from that is ther any other things to look or listen out for on them ??

Mine had this when I first got it it was overboosting look at the boost gauge when you have your foot on the floor (I know not as easy as it sounds - take a friend) if it goes over 1 bar and doesn't settle down to .7 - take it back to the dealer.

I may well be wrong - if I am I'm sure somebody will let you know quickly
