milometer stuck

Perhaps you lot can help me out. I once heard a rumour that when your TVR gets to 29,999 it stops the milometer that is not the car.
well just turned over the golden number and yes you've guessed it,stuck at not quite 30,000.
is this really a commmon TVR Problem and how can i fix it.

mine does it now and again, just gently tap the speedo whilst on the move, the last time mine did it, it took 10 minutes and the car following me behind looked very puzzled. I managed to move it over whilst stood once too.
