I think I know the answer.

When cold, plume of smoke from the offside exhaust, when warm, nothing.

This has just started after the spark plug were changed.

Trouble is, I have no choice but to go to France, Eurotunnel, Saturday at 1pm.

If it is what I think it is, has anyone got a spare M400 Turbo, who can fit it etc.

HELP.

Not again Ash!

I'm getting the tunnel saturday too, but a bit earlier than you. See you in LeTouquet (I hope).

p.s. is it definitely oil smoke (i.e. greasy - you can hold paper in front of it to see when you do it (if you have really long arms))

Hi J

Can you txt me a number for MV?

HAve tried Trevor and John Noble, JN need to get hold of a turbo, prob from the factory fingers crossed. He says about 2 hours plus, Roush say 4 to 5.

It is white smoke, could be water, goes when warm and nothing on idle when warmed up. Even when blipping.

Will let you all know first thing in the morning if it smokes again.

Fingers crossed.

I've had the cold only, and I think it was the water cooling in the turbo leaking, or maybe that was my imagination.

Text on it's way...

I think all is OK.

Started up this morning, zero smoke.

Must be something to do with having the plugs changed.

The smoke was white, so water.

Thanks all for all your advice and kind offers of loan kit. smile

Yes. Spa is in 2 weeks for me wink I agree, it looks like the changes have improved the track which is a nice change when F1 are involved!

Was the car previously started briefly and not warmed up? I had it once after starting the car from cold just to move it 10' into the garage, next day I started it and had some white smoke. It didn't smell like burnt oil, and not had it since.

I had it too in your car, and it was water vapour in the exhaust. Previous owner had it once or twice too.

Seems to still be working ok though? wink

warm the car up and take it for a good hard run

let it idle for a few mins then give it a good rev

if it smokes - probably a turbo

if it doesn't - all is well

a puff of smoke on startup could be a leaking valve stem seal - nothing to worry about really

Hi Dan,

The car's great, just had Gary service it and nothing materialised apart from a few loose nuts.
Much as I don't want to, going to be selling it soon. cry
